Fabrication is often the part people picture first, but a finished component rarely arrives ready for use on its own. At Hassell’s Engineering, our engineering assembly services take that fabrication and turn it into a working structure or system, ready to install or put straight into service.
Assembly sits between manufacturing and installation. It’s the stage where individual parts, whether fabricated in-house or supplied by a third party, come together as one functioning whole. Our assembly work covers the full build-up of a finished product. That includes fitting fabricated parts alongside third-party components, fasteners and specialist free-issued items provided by the customer. Everything is handled in-house, which keeps the process accurate, consistent and fully traceable from the first part through to the completed assembly.
Much of this work involves electro-mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, built to drawings and specifications supplied by the customer. Our team understands how individual parts need to perform together once in service, not just how they look when they leave the workshop.
The result of this process is a completed structure or system that’s genuinely ready for the next stage, whether that means onward installation or straight into the hands of an end user. Nothing leaves incomplete or untested. Every assembly goes through detailed procedural checks created specifically for that build, confirming components are correctly installed, secured and working as intended before it goes anywhere.
Keeping fasteners and commonly used components in stock also means assembly work isn’t held up waiting on missing parts, which matters when a project is running to a tight schedule. It also means smaller adjustments during assembly can be made there and then, rather than pausing the build while a part is sourced elsewhere.
Testing at this stage isn’t an afterthought either. Verifying that a system works before it leaves the workshop catches issues while they’re still straightforward to fix, rather than once an assembly has already reached site and installation is underway.
Whether a project is a single bespoke build or part of a repeat production run, the same approach applies. Fabrication, surface finishing and assembly all sit under one roof, which simplifies project management considerably and removes the delays that come with juggling multiple suppliers.
That full journey, fabrication through to a tested, finished assembly, is what our engineering assembly services are built around.
